Short Review:
Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility. All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursley’s, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

Short Review:
The Harry Potter franchise made a fairly passable jump to game consoles last year when EA released games based on the movie adaptation of the first novel in the series. The franchise’s rich tale of a young boy’s adventure as a wizard-in-training has all the gameplay and story elements needed for a video game pretty much built in. While the book that the film was based on has had a far-reaching appeal that’s crossed age barriers, the games were definitely skewed toward younger players.

Short Review:
EA has done a commendable job of realizing the Potter universe in Quidditch World Cup. The game sparkles with crisp FMV sequences featuring Harry, friends and rivals, and a slick menu interface set to the backdrop of the sport itself enables a variety of play modes and options. In this way, Quidditch World Cup is -- fictional competition or not -- a lot like one of EA's many sports offerings like Madden. By the same token, players can pick from their favorite teams -- houses like Gryffindor and Slytherin -- for instance, and likewise earn wizardry cards which are great for viewing and for unlocking special moves and arenas. It's a very well balanced setup with a tangible degree of depth.

Short Review:
Like its console-based counterparts, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for the PC is a kid-oriented action adventure game based on the recently released movie of the same name. Apart from that, this PC version is generally unlike the game you’ll find on the PS2 or Xbox, because Prisoner of Azkaban on the PC is an entirely separate game created by a different development team, rather than a simple port of the console version. The game is exceptionally easy and surprisingly brief, but while it lasts, it’s a fun romp for its target audience through Prisoner of Azkaban’s twisty storyline.

Short Review:
As Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger enter their fourth year at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, new challenges await them, both “professional” and personal. The Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire video game sticks strictly to the adventure aspects of the story, never touching upon the sticky relationship drama that makes up key subplots in the novel and the film.

Short Review:
The Harry Potter series of books has captured both the minds of children and adults alike. The movies haven’t disappointed either and are amongst the highest grossing films of all time. For some reason, the video games that have been released haven’t been able to reach the same level of quality that the movies and books have achieved. The latest game, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, continues that trend.

Short Review:
Half-Blood Prince features the exploration of Hogwarts and casting spells on objects around the school, similar to its predecessor Order of the Phoenix. The game also includes multiplayer games, classes, different times of day, Quidditch, Wizard Duels and Potion making.[4] The Marauder's Map is included in the game, as further progressing can open parts of the school. Harry can also call Nearly Headless Nick to show him around the school. Harry is the main playable character in the game, but Ron and Ginny are also available in two levels. The first has Ron concentrate on following Harry after taking love potion (if he doesn't follow Harry, the mission fails). The second has Ginny fill in Harry for Quidditch when he gets detention and play against the rival seeker Cho Chang.

Short Review:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is a title that diverges from other video games of the wizard as it leaves the secondary adventures of Harry a little aside to make the player dive into the action. Harry is no longer in the school of magic and began to struggle throughout England against the Death Eaters. (Lord Voldemort, the evil dark wizard) is pursued by the young character. An interesting aspect of this game is the number of objects that can be destroyed or damaged by the use of various spells. In fact, the wand can be used with a real gun, it triggers powerful colored beams against an object or an opponent.

Short Review:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 takes events from the final Harry Potter film (and the second half of the book that spawned it) and shoehorns shooter tropes into them that make the proceedings as nonsensical as Luna Lovegood’s ramblings. One such trope: the defend mission. In various levels, you must protect Hermione from enemies while she casts alohomora, the lock-opening spell. And each time, you’ll be appalled at the ridiculousness of the entire idea. Since when does alohomora take five minutes to cast? What is Hermione doing all that time? How is it that doors within the super-secure Gringott’s Bank can be opened with such an elementary spell? Another trope: the explosive-planting mission. In a particular chapter, you take control of Seamus Finnigan and plant charges of some sort around covered bridge in Hogwarts.
